Carleton Clauss joined the firm in 2010. He practices patent law with an emphasis on patent preparation and prosecution in the electrical and software arts and has technical expertise in semiconductor processing and manufacturing, solid-state devices, computer architectures, analog circuits, and programming/hardware description languages such as Java, C, C++ and Verilog. While receiving his B.S. in Electrical Engineering at Brigham Young University, Carleton spent over a year as a research assistant whose responsibilities included manufacturing and testing silicon devices in a clean room environment. He is also a member of two honor societies for engineers: Eta Kappa Nu and Tau Beta Pi. Upon graduation, Carleton worked as a post-graduate intern at Raytheon Missile Systems. He received his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and served as the year-in-review editor for the Alaska Law Review.
